27 Attention-Getters For Quieting A Noisy Classroom

How do you quiet a group of kids when you need their attention?

Check out  27 Attention-Getters For Quieting A Noisy Classroom for some new ideas. It’s classroom based, but a few of the ideas cross over!

I learned my favourite technique years ago working at summer camp. The coach raises their open hand and says “when the hand goes up!” and the kids raise their hand too and respond “the mouth goes shut!”
Usually, the kids especially yell shut (and snap their fingers closed too) and I remind them that at that time, their mouths do indeed go shut! I usually teach gym camps and PA day camps this trick and we practice a few times to get perfect silence so they know the expectation. Works every time!
