BUNGEE DRILL
FOR FRONT HIP CIRCLES
Front hip circles are notoriously challenging to teach beginner gymnasts, so it’s no wonder that when we recently shared this drill from @thelittlegymhamptonteddington on our Rec Gym Pros social media (IG + FB) — it was an instant hit!

Where to buy a bungee cord like that?
This bungee is connected as one big circle. You can find it on Amazon here.
(PS that link gives us little $$ kickback if you buy anything — but don’t worry, it’s no extra cost to you.)
Looks like there are two sizes. Personally, I’d opt for the larger one — if it’s too long, you can always give it an extra loop around the bar frame, but if it’s too short you are out of luck!
How to set it up?
The video above doesn’t quite show how the bungee is attached to the frame — but if it’s a bar with no cables…. my guess is that the bungee just needs to go over the sinlge rail & vertical uprights, and then twist back on itself to go around a second time (kind of like tying a hair elastic — but the bar is your “hair”).
If you have cables, and can’t bring the bungee circle down overtop of the bar, you may need to get creative with the frame of your bars set and load-bearing carabiners.
Obviously — safety first — so if you try any of this set up idea, it’s at your own risk so please exercise good judgement!
