Refresh Retreat – What to Bring

You might be wondering what to bring to the Refresh Rec Retreat!

Here is a list of items to help you have a comfortable stay at Camp Couchiching during the Retreat.

Clothing

  • Clothes for warmer day time & active sessions (high average temperature 22C/72F)
  • Clothes for cooler mornings/evenings/nights (low average temperature 12C/54F)
  • Layers – long sleeves/long pants (for layering in case of cold/mosquitos)
  • Pajamas
  • Swim wear for those who want to swim/boat/play in the lake
  • Closed toe shoes/running shoes (required for climbing high ropes & rock wall!)
  • Rain jacket (just in case!)

Sleeping 

  • Sleeping bag and/or a twin bed sheet with blanket
  • Pillow

Toiletries

  • The usual stuff (tooth care, hair care, etc.)
  • Bug repellent
  • Sunscreen
  • Towel
  • Necessary medications (epi-pens required for anaphylactic allergies)

Recommended Items

  • Something to take notes with (paper/digital)
  • Flashlight
  • Reusable drink bottle/travel mug (tap water is drinkable)
  • Phone charger/cables
  • Ear plugs for sleeping
  • Sunglasses

For non-Canadians

  • Passport
  • Any other important documents you might need (visas, covid-19 requirements, etc)

All food & snacks will be provided by the venue. If you want to bring your own snacks,  please ensure they are nut-free. We recommend you leave snacks in your car or in a sealed container.

Please do not bring any alcohol/cannabis to the retreat, as we will have minors in attendance (our insurance doesn’t like when these two things to mix).
